Sharon K. Ferrett possesses over thirty-five years of experience in higher education as a college & university dean, director and professor. She is also a management consultant & a small business owner who brings this "real world" perspective to her presentations & books: Peak Performance, seventh edition (McGraw-Hill, 2009), Positive Attitudes at Work (Irwin, 1994), Strategies: College and Career Success (Irwin 1996). Getting and Keeping the Job You Want, second edition (Irwin, 1995), Getting and Keeping the Job You Want, second edition (Irwin, 1995). She also writes a weekly business column in the local newspaper.
Dr. Ferrett is a popular management writer and speaker in such areas as teaching, forgiveness, The Enneagram, study skills, motivation, team building, leadership, aging, care giving, and communication. She received her B.A. & M.A. in communication from Western Michigan University, graduating summa cum laude and her Ph.D in administration and organizational communication from Michigan State University. She also did graduate work at the University of Michigan, University of Edinburgh and University of London. Sharon and her husband Sam, former mayor of Arcata, own an 1888 Victorian Inn in that town. They reside in a seaside village along the coast of Northern California.
