FAQs

The SUMMIT Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to mentoring and empowering first-generation students and Youth of Color to excel academically, professionally, and personally.

Our mission is to challenge first-generation students of color to break barriers, nurture their growth through mentorship, integrity, and innovation, and shape a brighter future for their careers and communities.

The SUMMIT Foundation is dedicated to transforming the lives of first-generation students and Youth of Color through mentorship, education, and leadership development. By partnering with us, you have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on individuals, communities, and industries. Here are four compelling reasons why supporting The SUMMIT Foundation is a wise and purposeful investment:

1. Develop a Ready and Qualified Workforce

  • With a proven track record of over 80 graduates in STEM fields, The SUMMIT Foundation is shaping the leaders of tomorrow. These graduates are not only academically accomplished but also equipped with professional skills, leadership abilities, and resilience to thrive in competitive industries.
  • Example: Meet Max a first-generation engineering graduate who entered our program as a shy freshman and now works as a mechanical engineer leading projects that improve community infrastructure. Max attributes his success to The SUMMIT’s mentoring program and now mentors younger students through the Foundation.
  • By supporting us, you help sustain a pipeline of highly skilled, diverse talent prepared to meet the needs of today’s workforce.

2. Foster Noble and Responsible Citizenship

  • The SUMMIT Foundation prioritizes character development, instilling values of integrity, responsibility, and community engagement in every participant.
  • Data Insight: 90% of our participants who complete two or more years in the program not only graduate but also stay active in community service initiatives after entering the workforce.
  • By investing in The SUMMIT Foundation, you’re supporting individuals who will not only excel professionally but also act as role models and changemakers in their communities.

3. Advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Goals

  • Partnering with The SUMMIT Foundation directly supports DEI initiatives by providing underrepresented students with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
  • Example: Our partnership with leading STEM organizations has enabled our graduates to secure roles in Fortune 500 companies, contributing to a more inclusive and innovative workforce.
  • Your organization will not only help diversify the workforce but also gain recognition as a champion of equity and inclusion.

4. Strengthen Communities and Drive Economic Growth

  • The SUMMIT Foundation doesn’t just transform individual lives; it uplifts entire communities. Our participants go on to inspire others, creating a cycle of empowerment and leadership.
  • Data Insight: Over 70% of our graduates return to their communities to mentor or contribute to programs that support the next generation of students.
  • Supporting The SUMMIT Foundation means contributing to a legacy of leadership, economic development, and community strength.
